Discussion Topic #2

In 100 proofed words discuss the following:

What are the benefits of "reaching Kurtz" for the reader? If we make it to him -- understanding his actions in the heart of darkness -- is it significant to our lives?

Be concise and try not to repeat ideas presented in previous posts, but you can build on them.

I think that if the reader understands Kurtz and all his actions, than that reader can learn much from them. So many people in our society are over achievers even if it is only in one particular thing. Kurtz is an achiever who succeeds too well. He figures out the system and uses it in the most efficient way possible. His addiction to success is his flaw. Kurtz is a warning that weakness will only lead to trouble if you’ve done what many strong people can not do. Therefore one must not allow themselves to become too attached to success and too overconfident in their abilities.
