Sentence Types

Simple (an independent clause -- for the sake of our discussion we will simplify the notion and use the term simple sentence)
(often the most powerful of sentences)

Compound (two simple sentences joined by a coordinating conjunction)
(Use when joining similar or related structures or information.)

Complex (two simple sentences joined by a subordinating conjunction)
(Use when joining unequal structures: shows relationship of ideas)

Compound / Complex (three simple sentences joined by a C.C and a S.C.)
